Art-based homeschool solutions in Lancaster County

What we hear over and over again from homeschool groups is their need for art solutions. Located in Manheim, Lancaster County, Horst Arts Center has already hosted a number of homeschool groups.

We offer a wide variety of arts and crafts experiences that aren’t offered anywhere else in Lancaster County. But beyond arts and crafts and DIY projects, we also offer talks about art. Katherine Horst is a professional fine artist, focusing on mixed-media collage, and she enjoys sharing her passion for art with students. She would be happy to talk with them about what goes into her process, and what it’s like to be an artist from a business point of view.

In a similar way, Jason Horst has been a graphic designer and web developer for three decades, and would love to share insights into anything from the basic rules of design to what goes into developing a successful website.

We have developed a half-day course of introductory information on both fine art and design that includes various hands-on activities to reinforce the discussed topics. Whether you’re interested in this course, or would simply like to have the students complete one of our workshops, we would be more than happy to discuss availability and options.
